    The Basic SLIM Modularized Spectrum Analyzer (SLIM MSA) requires 11 SLIM Modules.  The addition of the Tracking Generator (MSA/TG) requires an additional, 3 modules.  Extending the MSA/TG into a Vector Network Analyzer (MSA/TG/VNA) requires 2 more modules.  Each module is constructed on a printed wiring board, PWB, which can be ordered from ExpressPCB.  They can be ordered as a Miniboard containing several pwb's, or as a Full Panel containing all 16 pwb's.

Express Miniboards
    All 16 module PWB's can be positioned onto 4 individual miniboards and can be ordered from Express using their miniboard service.  If you order one miniboard, Express will send you 3 identical miniboards for about $60.  Go to the ExpressPCB website for more information, and to download their software.

Express Full Panel
    All 16 PWBs required for the MSA/TG/VNA are combined on one standard Panel and can be ordered from Express using their standard board service.
The following is a screen print of the Full Panel for all the PWBs required for the MSA/TG/VNA.  Click on the title to download the Express file.  Do not use this for parts placements.  This is the master artwork for the PWBs, and is only used for ordering a standard board from Express.  If you order two full panels (minimum order for Standard service), Express will charge appx. $120, or about $627 for 20 full panels.

Express Full Panel Revision History
    The Full Panel, Rev 0 was released 1-14-2008 (with a etched printing error showing 2007).  It was used to construct the Verification MSA/TG/VNA (the first SLIM MSA).  It is probable that no one else has ordered this panel from Express.
    The Full Panel, Rev A was released 5-16-2008 after initial testing of the Verification MSA.  Changes were made to the PWB layouts of the: Control Board pwb, PLO pwb, DDS pwb, and Final Xtal Filter pwb.  Many of these were purchased in a group buy in August, 2008.  Cash Olsen's panel version was derived from this Rev A design.
    The Full Panel, Rev B was released 10-21-2008 after a design improvement to the Phase Detector Module, PDM.
    The Full Panel, Rev C was released 1-20-2009 after a design improvement to the Control Board.
    The Full Panel, Rev D was released 7-23-2009 after design improvements to the PLO pwb and DDS pwb.  A group buy of these panels occurred in August, 2009.
    The Full Panel, Rev E was released 3-14-2010 after fixing an error on the Control Board pwb.
    All previous Express Full Panels and individual Express PWB's are fully functional, or can be modified, for the present design configuration of the MSA/TG/VNA.
